The Odessa regional administration plans to implement two infrastructure projects within three years. The purpose is to connect the territories of Ukrainian Bessarabia, today cut off by border points of ​​Moldova with the rest of Ukraine.
This was declared by the adviser to the governor of the Odessa region and the deputy head of the working group created in the Regional State Administration for the implementation of important infrastructure projects Yuriy Dimchoglo.
The first project is energy. It provides for the creation of the Novoodesskaya - Artsyz power line, which will connect the southern districts of the region with the general energy system of Ukraine. The second is the construction of a road bypassing the Palanka village on the territory of Ukraine.

According to him, two options are being considered to bypass Palanca: "maximum", envisages the construction of a bridge across the Dniester estuary, and "minimum", the construction of a new section of the Odessa-Reni road about eight kilometers long along the State border, bypassing the Moldovan village.
The "minimal" option, as noted by the governor's adviser, will cost about 20 times less.
The road to customs and after customs through our Ukrainian territory will be connected and we will forever forget the problem of crossing the Republic of Moldova. Ticket boxes, booths - nothing will happen.

The Road Service prepared a previous project for such a construction back in 2001. Since then it has become outdated and needs updating.
The Regional State Administration expects to agree on a new project by summer 2021, and by the end of the year to receive funding for it from the State budget and prepare for a tender. The road is planned to be built by the end of 2023.
The problem with the transboundary territory in the South of the Odessa region arose as a result of the agreement on the exchange of territories signed on August 4, 1998. Ukraine handed over 400 meters of the Danube bank to the neighbouring state, where Moldova built its only Danube port, Giurgiulesti. Moldova promised in return to transfer to Ukraine a section of the Odessa-Reni road and land near Palanca. As a result, the section of the road passed to Ukraine, and the Moldovan side retained the lands near Palanca.
