Quantum-Systems, a resident of Diia.City, raised €160 million in Series C funding and became a unicorn.

This was announced by Mykhailo Fedorov, the Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology, and Minister of Digital Transformation, on his Telegram channel.

He noted that the company raised €160 million in its Series C round, bringing the total investment in the project to €310 million. As a result, the startup has reached unicorn status, a term used for companies valued at over $1 billion. According to Diia.City, Ukraine plays an important role in this story. The company’s vertical take-off and landing reconnaissance drones, Vector, have been used in Ukraine since May 2022. In 2023, Quantum-Systems became a Diia.City resident, and that year, it opened a service, support, training, and logistics center in Ukraine. Later, an R&D center was created at the facility, and production in Ukraine was launched the following year.

The raised funds will be allocated to several areas:

  • Research and development of AI drone systems
  • Expansion of production
  • Increased presence in Europe, America, and the Asia-Pacific region

Quantum-Systems is a German company headquartered in Gilching, specializing in the development, design, and production of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since 2015. In addition to the Vector drone, which is actively used by Ukraine’s defense forces, the company’s portfolio includes the electric vertical takeoff and landing drones Tron, Twister, the Trinity drone series, and the short-range tricopter Scorpion.

For foreign companies, residency in Diia.City provides conditions for establishing production and localization, stable operations, and tools for building a transparent and effective corporate structure. Moreover, Diia.City offers preferential tax conditions to its residents, which help scale their businesses.
