Russian strikes devastate Ukrainian cities and infrastructure

Ukrainian authorities have reported a new wave of Russian attacks across multiple regions, leaving civilians injured and causing extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and utilities.

In Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces carried out 519 attacks over 11 settlements in the past 24 hours, injuring one person in the Polohy district. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the attacks included five airstrikes, 324 UAV strikes (mostly FPV drones), four multiple rocket launcher strikes, and 186 artillery shellings. Residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities sustained damage in 30 separate incidents.

 

 

Kharkiv region also faced intense attacks, with the city of Kharkiv and seven surrounding settlements targeted. Six people were injured, including residents of Kharkiv and the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz. Local authorities reported that drones, FPV UAVs, and Geran-2 and Lancet munitions were used in the strikes. Damage was recorded to stores, private houses, vehicles, and power lines across the region.

In Sumy region, two civilians were injured in the Seredyno-Budska community by unguided aviation rockets. The region experienced 64 attacks across 29 settlements in 13 territorial communities. Guided aerial bombs, drones, and FPV UAVs were widely used, damaging private homes, infrastructure, and vehicles. Local authorities evacuated two residents, while air raid alerts lasted over 22 hours.

Chernihiv region recorded 36 attacks in the past day. An FPV drone strike injured a 32-year-old man in Novhorod-Siverskyi district. Energy infrastructure was again targeted, and restoration work continues in the regional center.

Kherson region reported one civilian killed and 12 injured on September 26. Thirty-two settlements, including Kherson city, were hit by drones, airstrikes, and artillery shelling. Russian forces damaged seven apartment buildings, 94 private houses, shops, garages, and vehicles.

 

 

In Donetsk region, one resident was killed and nine injured, with the total number of Russian-caused casualties now at 3,664 dead and 8,210 injured, excluding Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Dnipropetrovsk region also experienced overnight attacks, leaving a 39-year-old woman injured in Pokrovska community. Administrative buildings, a museum, a store, private houses, and industrial enterprises were damaged, with several fires reported. Local air defense forces intercepted and shot down seven UAVs over the region.
