Russian strikes hit multiple Ukrainian regions, killing 4 and injuring dozen

Russian forces carried out a series of attacks across several regions of Ukraine between October 23 and 24, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and widespread disruption, regional authorities reported.

Kirovohrad Region
In the Novoukrainka district, Russian strikes targeted critical infrastructure, leaving 19 settlements without electricity. Andriy Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, reported on Telegram that no casualties were recorded and restoration efforts are underway.

Kherson Region
Kherson region experienced deadly strikes over the past day, with two people killed and nine injured, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. Cities and settlements including Kherson, Antonivka, Zymivnyk, Molodizhne, Prydniprovske, Sadove, and several others came under drone attacks, airstrikes, and artillery shelling.

Prokudin added that eight multi-story buildings, 20 private houses, administrative buildings, businesses, and vehicles were damaged. In the Korablevsky district of Kherson city, artillery strikes injured eight people, including a 16-year-old teenager.

Dnipropetrovsk Region
In Dnipropetrovsk, Russian attacks hit the Nikopol, Pavlohrad, and Synelnykove districts. Acting head of the regional administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko, reported drone and artillery strikes targeting district centers and local communities, causing infrastructure damage and fires. No casualties were recorded.

Donetsk Region
Russian attacks in Donetsk region killed two civilians and injured seven others on October 23, according to regional administration head Vadym Filashkin. Both fatalities occurred in Kramatorsk. Since the start of the invasion, at least 3,696 people have been killed and 8,364 wounded in the region, excluding casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Kharkiv Region
In Kharkiv region, Russian strikes damaged power lines and railway infrastructure across five settlements, with no reported casualties. The attacks involved one guided aerial bomb, 11 Geran-2 drones, and two “Lancet” drones. In Lozova, electrical networks were hit, while railway infrastructure was damaged in the village of Nove. The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 134 people over the past day, with 52 still staying there. Since opening, the center has registered 8,967 people.

Sumy Region
Sumy region experienced 54 Russian strikes across 18 settlements in 11 territorial communities. One man was injured in Krasnopil community by an FPV drone strike. The attacks included guided aerial bombs, drone attacks, FPV strikes, a missile strike, and a VOG-type munition dropped from a drone.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged in multiple communities: Popivska, Esmanska, Sumska, Seredyno-Budska, Bilopilska, Richkivska, and Hlukhivska. Local authorities, in coordination with the State Emergency Service, National Police, and NGOs, evacuated seven people from border communities.

Ukrainian authorities continue to respond to the attacks, prioritizing infrastructure restoration and civilian safety.
