Over the past two weeks, Russian occupation forces have increased the number of infantry assault operations in small groups within the area of operations of the Tavria Operational-Strategic Group of Forces.

This was reported by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

"The situation in the operational zone of the Tavria military group has been escalating over the past two weeks. This is evidenced by the increasing number of Russian assaults we have recorded, as well as artillery shelling, MLRS strikes, airstrikes, and missile attacks. Over the last two weeks, their number has slightly increased," Voloshyn stated.

According to him, today alone, 35 assault operations were recorded in the Tavria operational zone.

"For instance, in the Huliaipole direction, up to 10 enemy assaults were recorded daily, but today we have documented 22. Specifically, these attacks targeted Zelene Pole and Novopil. This is not an offensive or part of a strategic operation by the enemy; rather, these are tactical attempts to improve their position relative to the frontline," the spokesperson explained, adding that the enemy has intensified operations with small assault groups.

Voloshyn noted that the number of assaults has also slightly increased in the Orikhiv direction, where 5–7 assaults were recorded daily. However, today, there have already been 11 offensive actions targeting Novodanylivka, Stepove, Piatykhatky, Shcherbaky, Kamianske, and Lobkove.

He summarized that the Russian troops are currently most active in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions in the Zaporizhzhia region.

When asked about the situation near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Voloshyn said it remains stable, with no recorded increase in Russian activity.

Meanwhile, in the Kherson region, the Russian forces has increased the number of attacks on Ukrainian defenders' positions.

"As for the Prydniprovske or so-called Kherson direction, today there were also two attempts to land in the island zone. However, these attempts were unsuccessful. In total, over the 12 days of spring, the enemy has conducted more than a dozen such operations. While assaults in this direction are less frequent, the number of attacks on our positions and settlements near the Dnipro River is increasing," Voloshyn noted.

According to him, 240 attacks using MLRS and artillery systems were recorded today, which aligns with the average number of strikes.

"The number of kamikaze drones in our operational zone in the south has increased slightly. Today, there were over 400 FPV drone strikes and more than 300 instances of various munitions being dropped. This is approximately in line with average figures, although these figures have risen slightly compared to February 2025," Voloshyn added.

Additionally, the Russian forces has increased the number of airstrikes and guided bombs. Today, they used 23 guided bombs and 54 unguided aerial rockets, targeting Novopil, Huliaipole, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as settlements in the Kherson region.

At the same time, the spokesperson emphasized that Ukrainian Defense Forces continue actively eliminating Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment.

"Today, we eliminated 144 occupiers, and over the past 12 days of spring—nearly 1,150 personnel. Over the past month, almost 2,000 occupiers were neutralized," Voloshyn reported, adding that six artillery systems were destroyed today, including several self-propelled artillery units (SPGs).
