On the night of Monday, January 6, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with strike drones and missiles. Defenders managed to destroy 81 aerial targets.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From 6:00 PM on January 5 until the following morning, Russians attacked Ukraine with two guided Kh-59 air missiles from the southern direction and launched 128 Shahed strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones.
Russian targets were launched from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
The night air attack was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and Ukraine's Defense Forces.
As of 9:00 AM, the military confirmed the downing of two guided Kh-59 air missiles and 79 strike drones in Mykolaiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, and Vinnytsia regions. No hits were recorded.
Additionally, 49 drones were lost from radar tracking.
