Serhiy 'Flash' Beskrestnov: Russian forces increase use of anti-Starlink systems

Russian forces are increasing the number of satellite electronic warfare (EW) systems designed to disrupt Starlink communications.

Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, a freelance adviser to the President of Ukraine, reported this on Facebook.

"Russian forces continue to increase the number of satellite electronic warfare systems that interfere with Starlink operations. Each system is designed to protect a specific area of approximately 25 square kilometres. The Russians have deployed this type of electronic warfare system to cover almost all key facilities in Crimea and are increasingly using it along the front line," Beskrestnov said.

According to him, the days when such an EW system consisted of six trailers positioned together at a single site are long gone. Russian forces are now attempting to conceal the equipment.

The system is built around direct-focus satellite dish antennas approximately one metre in diameter. However, regardless of how they are concealed, the antennas must maintain an unobstructed view of the sky directly overhead, which limits the possibilities for camouflage.
