The Security Service prevented the transfer of Ukraine's latest military shipbuilding technologies to Russian and Iranian intelligence services.

As a result of a multi-level special operation in Mykolaiv, an engineer-designer from a strategic enterprise of Ukroboronprom was caught "red-handed." The official clandestinely copied and attempted to leak technical documentation on Ukrainian secret developments to foreign intelligence services.

According to the counterintelligence of the SSU, the perpetrator intended to provide information to two "clients." The first is a Russian national working at one of Russia's engineering plants collaborating with the country's intelligence agencies.

The other "client" of the intelligence information turned out to be an Iranian citizen previously convicted in Ukraine for espionage. Currently, the foreigner resides in a Middle Eastern country and works for Iranian intelligence under the "cover" of a local high-tech production company.

Both foreigners operated independently of each other, maintaining contact with the Ukrainian traitor through anonymous messenger chats.

According to available information, foreign intelligence services hoped to obtain Ukraine's latest developments to establish serial production of their military ship components. Among the main companies planning to use Ukrainian technologies were Russian shipyards building vessels for the Russian military fleet.

However, SSU counterintelligence acted preemptively, timely exposing and documenting the traitor's criminal actions. This prevented the attempt to transfer strategically important Ukrainian developments abroad.

During the search of the detainee, a mobile phone used for copying secret documents and communicating with foreign spies was seized.

Currently, the Security Service investigators have informed the perpetrator of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed during wartime).

The perpetrator is in custody and faces life imprisonment.

The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the guilty parties to justice.

The special operation was conducted by the SBU officers in the Mykolaiv region under the procedural guidance of the Mykolaiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region.
