Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Mudra held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa.

The main topics of discussion included joint steps toward achieving a just and lasting peace, holding Russia accountable for the crime of aggression, and ensuring the effective use of frozen Russian assets.

Iryna Mudra emphasized the importance of establishing a special tribunal for the crime of aggression as a component of the international system of justice.

Special attention was paid to concrete steps to launch an international compensation mechanism that would enable frozen Russian assets to be directed to Ukraine’s recovery.

The Ambassador of Italy reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the principles of international law, its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its readiness to continue close cooperation within key international formats.

Iryna Mudra thanked Italy for its active position and ongoing support, including within the European Union and the Group of Seven (G7).

“Italy is one of Ukraine’s key partners. We greatly value the support we receive from the Italian people and your contribution to building a just and lasting peace for Ukraine, Europe, and the entire world,” she concluded.
