Russian forces destroyed the building of the Kherson Regional State Administration and Regional Council, hitting it for the second time in one day.
The head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported the attack on Facebook.
“Russians have destroyed the building of the Kherson Regional State Administration. Information about casualties is being clarified,” the statement reads.
According to the Kherson City Military Administration, the city center has been cordoned off.
“Due to repeated enemy airstrikes on Kherson, the central part of the city is blocked off,” the report says.
The Russian army struck the city center with four guided aerial bombs, including the building of the Regional State Administration. Two men, aged 74 and 68, were injured.
Later, it was reported that the number of injured rose to three—a 44-year-old man from Kherson sought medical help. He suffered a concussion, brain trauma, and blast-related closed head injuries.
Among the injured is Yurii Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Head of the Regional Council.
After bombing Kherson’s center with guided bombs (GABs), Russian troops also shelled the city with artillery.
The building of the Regional Administration and Council in Kherson, which was once again struck on the morning of June 5, has long been out of use and no longer serves as a center for any military or civilian decision-making. Russians wanted a “symbolic image”—this is terrorism.
