The air defense forces destroyed around 20 Russian missiles over Kyiv and its surrounding area in the morning of February 7th.
The municipal military administration reported this on Telegram.
"The third missile strike on Kyiv in 2024. The enemy used cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 from the strategic bombers Tu-95MS from the territory of the Russian Federation. The air alarm in the capital lasted almost 3 hours. The missiles approached the capital in several waves from different directions," said the head of the municipal military administration, Sergiy Popko.
According to him, the air defense system hit about 20 missiles.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the missile strike in the Golosiivsky district, a fire broke out in a multi-story residential building and at a maintenance station. Cars were burning, and power lines were damaged.
Electricity networks were also damaged in the Dniprovsky district.
Repair crews of energy workers are already working on restoring power supply.
Information about damages and casualties is being updated and clarified, the statement said.
"Another missile strike once again proves that the enemy will not abandon continuing the missile terror on Kyiv. Therefore, I once again ask Kyiv residents and guests of the capital - do not ignore the air alarm signals. And do not forget to support and help the air defense forces and all defense forces," Popko emphasized.
