The Austrian city of Graz will assist Lviv in building an Art Library, as reported on the city's website.

The Art Library is intended to become a new cultural center located in the old part of Lviv. As part of a three-year partnership, Graz will allocate 75,000 euros for its construction, and the respective agreement is yet to be signed by the mayors of the cities.

Lviv and Graz also plan to exchange knowledge in the fields of culture, architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage.

Bürgermeister Elke Kahr: "About 3,000 people from Ukraine, who had to flee their country due to Russia's attack, have found refuge in Graz, with some of them establishing a new home. It is good that, in addition to humanitarian support, there is now a deepening of collaboration in the cultural domain."

Deputy Mayor Judith Schwentner: "It is a matter of the heart for me that, as a human rights city, we continue to support the people in Ukraine who have been suffering for the second year under the terrible aggression of Russia. With the implementation of this urgent motion from our City Councilor David Ram, we are sending an important signal of solidarity and connection – and also a small piece of normality in times of war."

SPÖ Club Chairwoman Daniela Schlüsselberger: "With this project, we are sending a crucial message of solidarity to the people in this beleaguered Ukrainian city. As a human rights city, Graz can provide a bit of normalcy and a future perspective to the population in Lviv, who, even far from the front, still endure the fear and horror of Russia's attack war and almost daily dread the rocket and bomb terror."
