On the night of January 9, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 70 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of imitation drones; none of the drones reached their target.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram

"As of 09:00, the downing of 46 Shahed-type strike drones and other types of UAVs in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions has been confirmed.

24 imitation drones – lost at specific locations (without negative consequences). It is noted that the falling shot-down strike drones damaged private houses in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions.

According to the Air Forces, the Russians launched drones from the areas of Russian cities Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
