On the night of March 8, 2025 (from 8:00 PM on March 7), the Russian attacked with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and one Iskander-K cruise missile from the Rostov region of Russia, as well as 145 Shahed-type strike UAVs and UAV imitators of various types from the following directions: Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in Crimea.
The air defense was carried out by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, EW units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of 09:00, it was confirmed that one Iskander-K cruise missile and 79 Shahed-type strike UAVs, along with UAVs of other types, were shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.
54 UAV imitators were lost in terms of location (without negative consequences).
As a result of the attack, the Donetsk, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Odessa regions were affected.
