“As part of reducing the enemy’s offensive capabilities, on the night of June 23, units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, together with the Rocket Forces and artillery, struck the ‘Atlas Plant’ oil depot in the Rostov region,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the Atlas Plant oil depot is used to supply fuel and lubricants to Russian military units involved in the armed aggression against Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
“The achievement of our strike means in the target area has been confirmed. A fire has been recorded. The results of the fire damage are being clarified,” the General Staff emphasized, adding that the Defense Forces continue to take all measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian troops and force Russia to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Atlas Plant is part of the Russian military-industrial complex and supplies the army with petroleum products, including to the occupied territories of Ukraine. The facility was previously attacked on November 29 and August 3, 2024. Both times, fires broke out there. After the summer attack, the fire was extinguished only after 12 days.
