In the southern regions, the main customer remains the Odessa region, while demand is actively growing in the central and western regions. There is no clear localization of the increased demand, but deliveries are expected to reach the eastern part of the country soon.
This was shared by the commercial director of Variant Irrigation, Variant Agro Bud, Ilya Zhemelinsky.
"Farmers understand that the soil moisture levels are low, and without additional irrigation, crop yields are at risk. Meanwhile, in regions where irrigation is used, yields can be twice as high, making investments in irrigation systems strategically important. Moreover, favorable product prices in 2024, compared to 2022, provide farmers with more financial opportunities for development," commented Ilya Zhemelinsky.
He adds that there is also a shift in the customer profile: previously, the main customers were farms specializing in fodder grain cultivation, but now there is a growing demand among seed producers, vegetable growers, and niche crops (such as tarragon, clover, etc.). Among the clients are both large agro-holdings and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Large enterprises typically order 1-2 machines, test them, and calculate profitability. In contrast, medium-sized farmers may immediately order 2-3 machines, as the costs are comparable to the equipment needed even for a small field.
