Ukraine and France continue to deepen their economic cooperation, creating conditions for increased inflow of foreign investment and implementing joint projects in priority sectors of the Ukrainian economy. This was discussed during a meeting between the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and a delegation from the French Republic led by Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic for Assistance and Reconstruction of Ukraine, Pierre Elbron. The meeting was also attended by the French Ambassador to Ukraine, Gaël Vésier.

"First of all, I want to thank France for its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for the military, humanitarian, and financial assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

Currently, for a faster recovery of Ukraine, we need to attract private investment, as they have the highest multiplier effect on the economy. The key sectors prioritized for investment in 2024-2027, which have the greatest potential for Ukraine's growth, are the energy sector, transport and logistics for exports, agro-industry, critical materials, processing industry (including 'green' metallurgy), IT and digitalization, green transition, and environmental protection," emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the preparation and implementation of bilateral intergovernmental economic agreements and cooperation between the countries in the direction of investment guarantees.

"We have been actively working with our French colleagues for the past few months on the preparation of several projects for economic cooperation to rebuild our economy, attract new investors, and provide investment guarantees," proposed Yulia Svyrydenko.

During the conversation, the parties discussed deepening cooperation between the two countries, increasing financing for the development of the private sector, as well as providing technical assistance and sharing French experience in Ukraine.

Another topic for discussion was the adoption of the Ukraine Facility, which involves allocating funding of €50 billion over the next 4 years and programs for financing state and private projects using guarantee instruments within one of the components of the Ukraine Facility.
