The leaders of the French and British armies will visit Ukraine this weekend to work alongside Ukrainian military forces on deploying guarantee troops.

This was announced by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot before his meeting with NATO counterparts in Brussels.

"In the face of the new world disorder that is gaining momentum, members of our Alliance must demonstrate unwavering solidarity, especially with Ukraine, because today Russia is the only obstacle to peace," emphasized Barrot.

According to him, the efforts of France and the UK are intended to make significant progress in supporting Ukraine.

"Some coalition members, willing and capable, have expressed a desire to prepare the conditions for creating a force that will ensure that a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will be truly lasting. For this reason, the leaders of the French and British armies will visit Ukraine this weekend," Barrot said.

He also added that heads of state and government who met with President Emmanuel Macron in Paris last week will continue to support American efforts for a ceasefire and will work to create conditions for monitoring once a ceasefire is achieved.
