The online freelancer platform Fiverr has announced the acquisition of the Ukrainian Digis Group, which includes the IT companies Digis and Scalamandra.

About a year ago, Fiverr acquired Digis, and from day one, Mykyta Nagatkin and his team impressed the company with their rare ability to take “the DNA of agility” and turn it into enterprise-level execution, Fiverr stated.

In a social media announcement, Fiverr noted that Digis “combines the precision and agility of elite freelancers with the structure and scale of a full-fledged technology company.”

“When Fiverr first approached us with the possibility of an acquisition, I honestly couldn’t believe it. But the next day I was at their headquarters in Tel Aviv discussing what became one of the most important deals of my life,” Nagatkin commented on Fiverr’s announcement.

Digis Group was formed last year when the IT company Digis merged with the Lviv-based startup Scalamandra. Nahatkin estimated the deal value at between $500,000 and $1 million.

Scalamandra’s founder and CEO, Illia Podavalkin, stated that his company’s share was at least $1 million, and he is leaving the business to focus on new projects. Mykyta Nahatkin will continue working within the combined structure alongside the Digis team, which comprised about 200 employees and has grown by 20% following the acquisition.
