Ukraine is participating in The London Book Fair. In 2024, it takes place from March 12 to 14.
This was announced by the Ukrainian Book Institute.
The London Book Fair is one of the largest literary events in the world. Every year, it hosts deals for the buying and selling of rights, as well as the distribution of content in various formats: text, audio, video, and digital technologies.
The official opening of the Ukrainian stand is scheduled for March 13. On the same day, a panel discussion "Power of People" will take place, with the following participants:
- Olesia Khromeychuk, cultural manager, writer, editor, director of the Ukrainian Institute in London;
- Olga Mukha, cultural studies expert, project manager and curator in the field of culture and education, scientific editor, member of PEN Ukraine, head of the educational-international department of the "Museum of Terror";
- David Patrikarakos, writer, war correspondent, author of the book "War in 140 Characters: How Social Media Are Changing Conflict in the 21st Century";
- Iryna Starovoit, poet, essayist, associate professor at the Department of Cultural Studies at UCU, invited lecturer at the University of Oxford, member of PEN Ukraine;
- Emma Graham-Harrison, senior correspondent on international affairs for the British newspapers The Guardian and Observer.
Eight Ukrainian publishers will present their books:
- "Old Lion Publishing House"
- "Navchalna knyha – Bohdan"
- CP Publishing
- "ASSA"
- Tianachu
- "Ranok"
- "Nash format"
- SNOWDROP
According to the organizers, the fair is attended by over 25,000 people annually, connected with the publishing business.
The program for 2024 includes over 100 seminar sessions with the participation of publishers, writers, illustrators, translators, and thought leaders from the book industry.
The Ukrainian national stand is organized by the Ukrainian Book Institute.
