Of the large-scale investment projects, the implementation of which is being carried out at a good pace, the speaker separately highlighted the berth No. 7 of the Quarantine Harbour, the capital reconstruction of which should be completed at the end of 2022.
Let's look at this video on Odessa port:
Presenting the yearly report on the results of the port's production activities to the Council members, the head of the administration noted that in the last month of summer âthe grain season has started powerfullyâ (the volumes of grain cargo and containers).
In terms of liquid bulk transshipment, the port has already surpassed the last year's indicator. In terms of containers, 443 thousand TEUs were handled at two terminals of the port in 8 months, which is 5% more than in the same period last year.
Directly loading operations in the port of Odessa are carried out by private stevedoring companies - they lease almost all berths and storage facilities from the state on various terms. But the state enterprise "Odessa Commercial Sea Port" does not carry out cargo transshipment, being engaged almost exclusively in ship repair (at the shipyard "Ukraine") and the provision of towing services.
For the first six months of 2021, Odessa port operated at a loss, and only from July 2021, it began to show a profit.
