The books were handed over as part of the "Ukrainian book for Ukrainian children" charity event.
2,000 Ukrainian books were handed over to the Royal Library of Denmark, which will be distributed among public book collections. This was announced by the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark on Facebook.
The books were handed over as part of the charity event "Ukrainian children â a Ukrainian book" on the initiative of the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark (AUD) and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine.
"We are very grateful to everyone who joined and contributed to such an important cultural event! These books will be distributed among public libraries so that Ukrainians and their children always have access to their native language," says the AUD message.
You can join the initiative and order a book on the library's website.
For this you need:
- Find the "Søg, find og lån fra alle Danmarks biblioteker" section, which will open a search box, and below it "Flere søgemålhøre";
- Click on "Flere søgebøger" and select "Materialetype" and then "bøger". Language "Sprog", ukrainsk;
- After scrolling up to the top of the page, select "søg" and get a list of books;
- To order, click "Vælg og bestil";
- Specify the name of the library or zip code, where it is convenient to pick up the book, and find out details about the borrowing terms.
The Association of Ukrainians in Denmark noted that the more Ukrainian books readers take from the library, the more they will appear there.
