On the evening of January 21, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv with drones, causing destruction, fires, and injuries, as reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

The attack partially destroyed the attic floor of a residential building. A fire engulfing 100 square meters of an apartment on the sixth floor was extinguished. Two hundred residents were evacuated and have since returned to their homes.

Blast waves shattered windows in four apartment buildings and one private residence. A 1,000-square-meter reed fire and additional fires involving trash and dry grass over 100 square meters were extinguished. Damage was also reported to doors, windows, and private and administrative buildings, along with the destruction of a car.

 

 

The attack injured two individuals: a 74-year-old woman, hospitalized, and a man experiencing acute stress, who declined hospitalization after receiving first aid.

Emergency psychological support points were set up by SES and police psychologists. In total, 45 rescuers and 11 units of SES equipment were involved.

 

 

Update:
According to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych, the attack also damaged several units of electric transport and vehicles belonging to municipal structural divisions. New Dnipro trolleybuses and a specialized track service freight wagon sustained significant damage.
