There is no federal structure of "citizens of the USSR". This is a collective name for disparate groups that can cooperate with each other. One of the largest associations - also recognized as the extremist "Union of Slavic Forces of Russia" (USSR) - was created in 2010 by the owner of a dental clinic from Zelenograd near Moscow, Sergei Taraskin. Some regional leaders of "citizens of the USSR" recognize the supremacy of the "acting president of the USSR" dentist Taraskin, while others are categorically against it, considering him a usurper and an impostor.

Common to activists is the belief that the USSR legally continues to exist, and the current Russian authorities and the laws they adopt are illegitimate, so you can not pay taxes and housing and communal services and not repay loans. In some cities, "citizens of the USSR" even had their own public utilities service, which illegally restored electricity or water supply to subscribers who had been disconnected for non-payment.

Since 2020, "citizens of the USSR" have also massively supported covid dissidents, considering the pandemic and subsequent vaccination as elements of a "digital concentration camp" and "genocide."

How did the "citizens of the USSR" act? Those interested were clearly explained: you were born in the Soviet Union and did not give consent to change citizenship, therefore you remain a citizen of the Land of Soviets. To obtain a new "real" passport, you must pay a fee of several thousand rubles. Subsequently, other documents can be "issued" for money - from a driver's license to a birth certificate. Of course, they had no legal force, as well as the argument about the absence of an application for withdrawal from the citizenship of the USSR.

Now the organization's activity is banned in Russia, and it must be liquidated.
