The Senate of the Kingdom of Spain has joined the joint statement of the world’s parliaments in support of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on Facebook.
"Another step by Spain in support of Ukraine! I am glad to welcome the Senate of the Kingdom of Spain among the signatories of the joint statement of the world’s parliaments. Earlier, the Congress of Deputies joined, and now both chambers of the Spanish Parliament have confirmed their solidarity with Ukraine," Stefanchuk noted.
He thanked Pedro Rollán and all the senators for their firm stance.
"Spain has once again demonstrated its commitment to international law and justice by supporting the condemnation of Russian aggression, the need for stronger sanctions, the release of prisoners, increased aid to Ukraine, and support for our membership in the EU and NATO," emphasized Stefanchuk.
According to him, parliamentary unity of the democratic world is key to victory. The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada invited other countries to join this initiative.
