The Security Service has uncovered another informant from the Russian military intelligence who was collecting intelligence about the Armed Forces and adjusting Russian fire on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk region.

It was precisely at her "guidance" that on January 6 of this year, the Russians launched a missile strike on residential buildings in Pokrovsky district.

As a result of the "visits," six civilians were killed, including two children.

The perpetrator also monitored the presence and frequency of movement of convoys with heavy armor and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards the front line.

To accomplish this task, the Russian intelligence informant got a job as a saleswoman at a railway station kiosk in the frontline area of the region.

There, she covertly extracted the "necessary" information from station employees during confidential conversations and sales of goods.

Moreover, she attempted to clandestinely monitor the movement of Ukrainian troops' equipment.

She remotely transmitted all the information obtained to an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. His identity has already been identified by the Security Service.

For communication, the perpetrators used an anonymous chat in a popular messenger. The informant transmitted the intelligence in the form of text "reports" and electronic photos of Ukrainian objects with geolocation.

As a result of the special operation, SSU operatives uncovered an Russian informant and detained her in her own residence.

According to the investigation, the Russian side recruited the woman for cooperation even before the start of the full-scale invasion by Russia. At that time, she would visit the temporarily occupied Donetsk, where her husband, a criminal serving a prison sentence in a local colony, resided.

After his release, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Russian private military company "Wagner," while his wife began working for Russian military intelligence.

In the summer of 2023, the woman's Russian "curator" contacted her, assigning her tasks related to gathering information on the Bahmut direction.

During the searches at her place of residence, the detained woman's mobile phone, which she used for reconnaissance and subversive activities, was seized.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators informed her of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, committed under conditions of martial law).

The perpetrator is currently in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
