The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained another FSB agent operating in Kharkiv. The suspect was preparing explosives for terrorist attacks and coordinating Russian missile and bomb strikes on the regional center.

The individual turned out to be a 24-year-old unemployed resident of Kharkiv, who came under the FSB's radar after posting pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram channels.

After being recruited, he received coordinates of Russian hideouts with components for improvised explosive devices (IEDs), added phones and explosives, and planted them in new hiding spots.

Additionally, the agent was gathering information on the locations of defense enterprises, particularly companies involved in the production and repair of combat drones.

To obtain this information, the traitor would inquire about it during casual conversations with acquaintances, then conduct reconnaissance near the "target" object.

The Russians planned to use these coordinates for a new series of airstrikes on Kharkiv.

During a search at the suspect’s residence, a mobile phone was seized containing an anonymous chat in a messenger app, through which he communicated with the FSB.

Based on the evidence collected, the SSU investigators have charged him under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • Part 2 of Article 111 (state treason committed during a state of war);

  • Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal acquisition and storage of an explosive device).

The suspect is currently in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
