On January 8, the U.S. Embassy warned of a possible air attack on Ukraine in the coming days.

The corresponding warning was published on the embassy’s website.

“The U.S. embassy in Kyiv has received information concerning a potentially significant air attack that may occur at any time over the next several days,” the statement said.

As always, the embassy recommends that U.S. citizens be prepared to immediately seek shelter in the event an air raid alert is issued.

The diplomatic mission also reminded people how to prepare for an air attack: in particular, identify shelter locations before an air raid siren sounds, download air raid alert apps to mobile phones such as Air Raid Siren or Alarm Map, prepare supplies of food, water, and medicines, and go to a shelter if an air raid alert is announced.

“Monitor the latest news in local media. Be prepared to change your plans. In case of an emergency, follow the instructions of Ukrainian officials and emergency services,” the statement added.
