Ukraine’s and Italy’s foreign ministers, Andrii Sybiha and Antonio Tajani, discussed the importance of supporting Ukraine’s partners on the path toward achieving a just peace.

During President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Italy, Sybiha briefed his Italian counterpart on Ukraine’s peace efforts, the difficult battlefield situation, and energy challenges following intensified Russian attacks.
“We discussed the important role of Italy and other European partners in advancing peace efforts and supporting Ukraine on this path,” the foreign minister said.
He added that urgent measures were also discussed to strengthen Ukraine and increase pressure on the aggressor.
“It is important to finally enable the full use of frozen Russian assets, strengthen Ukraine as part of the SAFE program, and further increase contributions to the PURL initiative.,” Sybiha emphasized.
He thanked Italy for its military assistance.
“We value our partnership with Italy and thank our Italian friends, all the Italian people, for their strong support, including the latest military assistance package. Together, we are defending our shared values and the security and peace in Europe,” the Ukrainian foreign minister stated.
