Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko held a meeting with Masashi Nakagome, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine.
One of the key topics was the upcoming National Day of Ukraine at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, scheduled for August 5.
Yuliia Svyrydenko expressed gratitude for the invitation to the ceremonial event, which will serve as an important gesture of appreciation to the international community for its support of Ukraine.
“Ukraine sincerely thanks Japan for its ongoing support. National Day at EXPO 2025 will be an opportunity to express our gratitude once again. Although I will remain in Kyiv working with the team on the action plan, we are actively preparing to participate in events in Japan,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The meeting also covered:
- The organization of a Ukrainian-Japanese business forum this autumn;
- Preparations for the arrival of two Japanese business missions;
- Promotion of an investment agreement between Ukraine and Japan, planned to be signed this autumn.
The parties also paid special attention to Japan’s potential accession to the international initiative Culture Resilience Alliance, launched by Ukraine to support culture as a factor of resilience and recovery during wartime.
