Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov held a meeting with Eirik Lie, CEO of the leading Norwegian corporation Kongsberg Gruppen ASA and President of Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
'Ukraine is expanding its cooperation with the Norwegian defense company Kongsberg. This company has already provided significant support to Ukraine. Notably, Kongsberg, together with the U.S. company Raytheon, plays a vital role in supplying NASAMS air defense systems, which reliably protect our cities from aerial attacks. We discussed the integration of domestic air defense systems into the NASAMS framework, which will enhance its effectiveness,' said the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
Another key topic was counter-drone systems and the possibility of localizing their production in Ukraine.
"Additionally, we explored the development of maritime capabilities. I sincerely thank Kongsberg for its support and willingness to advance our cooperation," said Umerov.
