The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has received 40 emergency response vehicles from the Korean Red Cross for the provision of urgent medical assistance during the war: 20 KIA cars and 20 Hyundai Staria cars. The project was successfully implemented with the support of the governments of Korea and the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The vehicles have been distributed among healthcare facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.

Overall, since 2022, Ukraine has received over 150 emergency medical response vehicles from the Republic of Korea.

"Every day, Ukraine is under attack from the enemy army. Every day, our infrastructure suffers destruction. 1594 medical facility objects have been damaged, and another 210 have been completely destroyed. 550 emergency medical vehicles have been damaged, destroyed, or captured by the Russians at a time when the need for medical transport is significantly increasing due to the rising number of casualties," said Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.

"We are very grateful to all partners who lend us a helping hand. The 40 'ambulances' received today from the Korean government will help our emergency medics save even more patients, as these vehicles are equipped with everything necessary to assist critically ill patients, as well as those who require additional life support during transportation to hospitals and between hospitals."

"I am also very grateful that today we can hand over 40 emergency response vehicles from Korea to the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. I think it is very important that the Red Cross, which was born in a conflict zone, can donate ambulances that can be used to support the wounded, guided by the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement," said Dr. Chul-Soo Kim, President of the Korean Red Cross.
