On February 6, Ukraine received its first French Mirage 2000 fighter jets.

French Minister of Defense Sébastien Lecornu announced this on social media platform X (Twitter).

He did not specify the number of jets delivered but mentioned that they arrived with Ukrainian pilots on board, who had undergone several months of training in France.

"On June 6, 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the delivery of Mirage 2000 jets to Ukraine. Now, they will participate in defending Ukraine’s skies," added Lecornu.

The Mirage 2000 is a French multi-role single-engine jet fighter of the fourth generation, developed in the 1970s by Dassault Aviation. It was the main combat aircraft of the French Air Force at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century. It has been adopted by several countries' armed forces across Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
