Ukraine plans to begin controlled exports of surplus types of weapons. Agreements have already been reached on creating four export platforms — in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his evening video address.
“Today at the Staff meeting there were reports on our long-range needs for the near term, by the end of the year, and longer term. The accuracy of our troops helps defend the entire state,” Zelensky noted.
The head of state said that contracts and production are planned “so that our arsenals are sufficiently stocked.”
“We are also working on exports — controlled exports of our weapons, certain types we have in surplus, which can really give Ukraine additional funds for producing scarce items urgently needed at the front now, and those that have proven most effective in striking deep into Russian territory,” Zelensky stressed.
According to him, agreements have already been reached on four export platforms: the United States of America, Europe, the Middle East, and also Africa.
“We will be preparing the relevant agreements,” the President added.
