This week, the government, in coordination with law enforcement agencies and the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), is preparing a one-year moratorium on business inspections.

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this.

“We immediately picked up the pace. I held the first government meeting and a series of discussions with key ministers — we outlined our initial priorities,” Svyrydenko said, commenting on her first week in office.

According to her, a number of decisions are being prepared for next week, including the business inspection moratorium.

“The government, together with law enforcement and under the coordination of the NSDC, is preparing a decision that will give businesses more freedom. A one-year moratorium on inspections is planned. This issue has already been discussed with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy — his instruction is clear: give more freedom to the internal economic forces. This also means continuing to bring the shadow economy into the light and ensuring fair conditions that benefit legitimate businesses,” Svyrydenko emphasized.

An audit of criminal cases against businesses has also begun.

“The priority is to close unfounded cases that hinder entrepreneurship. New cases will only be approved by the Prosecutor General or heads at the regional or district level,” the Prime Minister noted.

At the same time, tax and customs inspections will be restricted. According to Svyrydenko, there will be stricter oversight of the legality of investigative actions.

“Inspections will only take place in high-risk sectors, while law-abiding businesses will receive protection. We are ready to initiate legislative changes to better protect businesses, reform oversight, and ensure the fair use of confiscated Russian assets,” she added.
