Communities in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odessa regions have received 20 mobile clinics. The arrival of these mobile clinics will improve residents' access to essential medical services.
Currently, the communities have received 10 mobile clinics, while another 10 were delivered to communities in various regions of Ukraine at the end of last year.
Due to Russia's systematic attacks and the challenges caused by the full-scale war, providing medical assistance in some areas has been significantly hindered. Mobile clinics, however, enable improved access for patients to necessary primary healthcare services in these regions.
The mobile clinics are fully equipped ambulatory units on wheels, capable of reaching patients wherever they are and providing high-quality medical services. They are designed and manufactured according to the needs of medical institutions. All systems, materials, and devices meet European medical and safety standards.
Each mobile clinic is equipped with necessary medical equipment, a climate control and ventilation system for clinical spaces, a heater, water tanks, generators, and batteries for backup power to ensure continuous operation despite Russia's systematic attacks and power outages. The space within the building is designed to provide access to the clinic for individuals with disabilities.
Mobile teams will provide a full range of services typically available at a primary healthcare center, including general consultations, diagnostics, treatment, laboratory services, ultrasound, vaccinations, maternal and child care, ophthalmology, ECG, and more.
The mobile clinics were procured by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the "Special Support Program for Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions" funded by the German government, while clinical training for the mobile teams from receiving communities is partially funded by the European Union.
