The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law that temporarily suspends Ukraine’s participation in the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction.
The news was shared by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak on Telegram.
Legislative initiative No. 0329 was supported by 299 Members of Parliament.
The law was passed due to the need to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities amid the ongoing full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation, which began in 2022.
