The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the striking of an arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) in Russia’s Kostroma region, as well as a Russian fuel depot, UAV command posts, and other key targets.
The General Staff reported this on Facebook.
"In order to reduce the enemy’s military potential, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the 100th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the area of the settlement of Neya (Kostroma region, Russia). The target was hit. A fire has been recorded on the site," the statement reads.
The scale of the damage is being clarified.
Preliminary information indicates that a local evacuation has been announced.
The General Staff noted that the 100th GRAU arsenal is a long-term ammunition storage complex, part of the supply system for the Russian Ground Forces, Airborne Forces, and Aerospace Forces. The facility manages the accounting, technical maintenance, storage, and preparation for shipment of artillery shells, as well as tactical and operational-tactical missiles.
"Striking this facility significantly disrupts ammunition supply chains, reduces the operational capabilities of enemy combat units, and complicates offensive operations," the General Staff emphasized.
The General Staff also confirmed a strike on the “Gerkon Plus” fuel depot in the area of the settlement of Striletski Khutory, Lipetsk region, Russia, on the night of January 6.
"The target was hit. Explosions were recorded. A fire broke out. The extent of the damage is being clarified," the statement noted.
Additionally, Russian UAV command posts were hit in the following areas: Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Ukraine; Valetovka, Kursk region, Russia; and Grayvoron, Belgorod region, Russia.
In all cases, the targets were successfully struck.
A 9S32 radar station of the S-300V surface-to-air missile system was also hit near Novoyanisol, in occupied Donetsk region.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an area of Russian troop concentration near Staroselye, Belgorod region, Russia. The target was hit, and losses are being assessed.
"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue systematic weakening of the military-economic capabilities and offensive potential of Russian occupation forces. Targets directly involved in the armed aggression against Ukraine are being struck," the General Staff emphasized.
