Among 37 Ukrainian bands, the organisers chose the Kyiv trio Death Pill, which has been combining hardcore, punk, grunge and thrash in its music since 2017.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, the band members found themselves in different countries, but they did not stop working and in 2023 released their debut album with the support of the New Heavy Sounds label. Metal Hammer magazine called the release one of the best crossover albums of our time, and The Guardian included the band in its list of the most promising bands of the year.

Despite the war, Death Pill is working on SOLOGAMY’s second album, scheduled for release on 20 June 2025. The LOUD WOMEN festival, which brings together the strongest female voices of the alternative scene, will take place on 6 September at Rich Mix in London and will be part of Death Pill’s UK tour. The tour will also cover Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Canterbury and other cities.

Death Pill’s performance at the LOUD WOMEN festival is supported by the British Council in Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute and the Cultural Diplomacy Foundation as part of the 100-year partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
