Russian forces continue their attempts to advance deeper into Ukraine but face significant losses as Ukrainian defenders hold their ground. Since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian forces have repelled 85 Russian attacks, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Border areas remain under relentless Russian artillery fire. Shelling has affected multiple settlements, including Uhly in the Chernihiv region, Studenok and Ulanove in the Sumy region, and Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region.
Fierce battles are ongoing across several fronts:
- Kharkiv direction: Fighting continues near Lyptsi.
- Kupiansk direction: Russian forces launched two attacks, supported by aviation, near Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliakivka.
- Lyman direction: Ukrainian troops have repelled seven assaults, with two more engagements still underway.
- Siversk direction: Russian forces made seven assault attempts near Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske, with four ongoing clashes.
- Kramatorsk direction: Ukrainian defenders fought off five Russian attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, and Predtechyne, with one more battle in progress.
- Toretsk direction: Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Krymske, while three more clashes continue.
- Pokrovsk direction: The most intense fighting is occurring here, with 40 Russian assaults reported. Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled 33 attacks despite Russia's heavy push.
- Novopavlivsk direction: One Russian attack was recorded near Kostyantynopil, while Rozlyv and Komar suffered aerial bombardment.
- Hulyaipole direction: Russian forces attempted one attack near Novosilka, with airstrikes targeting Ternove and Temyrivka.
- Orikhiv direction: No active Russian operations reported.
- Dnipro direction: Five Russian attacks have been repelled.
- Kursk region: Ukrainian forces faced seven Russian assaults, with three ongoing battles and six Russian airstrikes recorded, involving nine guided bombs.
Despite relentless waves of attacks, Ukrainian forces continue to inflict heavy losses on Russian troops while holding the defensive lines.
