Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Representative to Ukraine, recently examined Western-made electronic components that Ukrainian military intelligence recovered from destroyed or captured Russian weaponry.

The special exhibition was organized by the War&Sanctions portal of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence in partnership with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise. The display highlighted key parts extracted from Iranian-Russian Shahed (Geran) kamikaze drones and Russian Gerbera drones—weapon systems currently used by Russian forces to target and terrorize civilian areas in Ukraine.

Among the components identified were critical microelectronic microchips essential for manufacturing precision-guided weapons. These parts were reportedly obtained by the Russian defense industry through “gray market” channels designed to bypass international sanctions.

“It is essential that the international community strengthens oversight to ensure full compliance with sanctions imposed on Moscow,” emphasized Shyfr, a serviceman from Ukrainian Defense Intelligence. “Manufacturers must also take greater responsibility in monitoring where their products end up in global markets.”

The Ukrainian Defense Intelligence continues its work to analyze the composition of Russian military equipment, exposing attempts to circumvent sanctions and aiding efforts to prevent the illegal procurement of sensitive technology.
