Wave of Russian attacks across Ukraine injures civilians and damages buildings

Ukrainian authorities reported a wave of Russian attacks across multiple regions over the past day, resulting in civilian casualties, damage to residential buildings, and widespread disruption of infrastructure.

Kherson Region:
Six people were injured in the Kherson region due to Russian shelling, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. The attacks targeted the city of Kherson and 25 surrounding settlements, involving drones, airstrikes, and artillery fire. Residential buildings and social infrastructure suffered significant damage, including three apartment buildings and five private houses.

Chernihiv Region:
A drone strike on an energy facility in Nizhyn left hundreds of thousands without power, reported Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration. The region also endured 44 attacks, including drone and artillery strikes that damaged homes and municipal vehicles in Semenivka and Vertiivka. Four men injured in previous attacks remain under medical supervision in stable condition.

Sumy Region:
Over 80 Russian shelling incidents affected 36 settlements, injuring two women aged 58 and 65. Buildings, private homes, cars, and civilian infrastructure were damaged across the region, according to Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.

Donetsk Region:
One person was injured in Donetsk over the past day, while 15 residential buildings were damaged, including two multi-storey apartments. Most damage occurred in the Pokrovsk district, with homes and infrastructure hit in Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and surrounding communities, according to Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

Dnipropetrovsk Region:
The Nikopol district was targeted overnight, with Russian forces using Grad rocket systems, artillery, and FPV drones. Infrastructure, power lines, residential and administrative buildings were damaged, including a private house that caught fire. No casualties were reported, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

Zaporizhzhia Region:
Russian forces carried out 756 strikes on 29 populated areas, including 17 airstrikes, 483 drone attacks, five MLRS strikes, and 251 artillery strikes. Residential buildings and infrastructure were heavily affected, according to Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Kharkiv City:
During the night of January 24, a massive UAV attack struck Kharkiv, damaging apartment buildings, private homes, a dormitory, and two medical facilities. Fifteen civilians were injured, including a 12-year-old boy suffering from acute stress, according to the Kharkiv Regional Police. Emergency services were dispatched to assist victims and document the damage.

Kharkiv Region:
Two civilians, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed and 24 others injured in Kharkiv and six surrounding settlements. Nineteen of the injured were residents of Kharkiv city, according to Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
