President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the Republic of South Africa on the night of April 24. During his visit, he plans to meet with the country's president, Cyril Ramaphosa.
"We are preparing for important meetings in South Africa with President Cyril Ramaphosa and representatives from political, civil, and student communities from African countries," the statement reads.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is counting on South Africa's active participation in the international coalition to return the thousands of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia.
"We will definitely strengthen our cultural and educational ties as well," the president added.
Zelensky's visit to South Africa was announced by the South African president's spokesperson back in early March 2025.
