Russian authorities are using shell companies and other schemes to procure weapons components in Europe, including Denmark, warns the Danish Industry Association, as reported by Politiken.

11 Danish companies have been accused of violating sanctions against Russia.

According to the association, Danish firms risk breaching the restrictions unknowingly, as Russian entities deceive them by creating fictitious companies and false recipient countries. This misleads the companies and makes them inadvertently involved in transactions subject to sanctions.

The Danish Industry Association regularly receives inquiries from member companies and exporters seeking assistance in verifying trading partners and understanding the terms of deals before execution. Experts emphasize that without thorough due diligence, cooperation with foreign companies can lead to serious legal consequences.
