Russia launched 239 drones and 7 ballistic missiles overnight

During the night of June 18 (starting from 18:00 on June 17), the Russian forces launched an attack using 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Voronezh, Bryansk, and Kursk regions, as well as 239 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones (among them jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data as of 08:00, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down or suppressed 216 targets: 4 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and 212 UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of drones, over the northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Hits by two ballistic missiles and 26 strike UAVs were recorded at nine locations. In addition, debris from intercepted targets fell at seven locations.

Information regarding one additional ballistic missile is still being clarified.
