On the night of May 21 (from 00:30 on May 21), the Russian forces launched an attack with 76 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of drone imitators from the directions of Kursk, Orel, and Bryansk — Russia.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:00, air defense had neutralized 63 Shahed drones (and other types of drones) in the east, north, and center of the country.
Of these, 22 were shot down by weapons, and 41 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare (with no negative consequences).
As a result of the attack, the Kharkiv and Sumy regions were affected.
