Russia launched over 90 drones and five missiles overnight

On the night of November 8, Russian forces launched another large-scale drone attack. Ukraine’s air defense managed to destroy 62 drones and more.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the Air Force, during the attack, Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Rostov region. Additionally, throughout the night, Russian forces launched:

  • Four guided X-59/69 air missiles from the airspace over Belgorod region;
  • 92 Shahed-type and other unidentified drones from the directions of Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Oryol, and occupied Crimea;
  • Guided aerial bombs towards the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.

To repel the attack, the following forces were engaged:

  • Anti-aircraft missile forces;
  • Aviation;
  • Electronic warfare units;
  • Mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces.

As of 9:00 a.m. on November 8, it was confirmed that 4 guided X-59/69 air missiles and 62 drones were shot down.

Anti-aircraft missile forces, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Ukraine’s Defense Forces defended against the aerial attack. Another 26 drones were lost across various regions in Ukraine, and one remains in Ukrainian airspace.
