On the night of November 28, 2024 (from 19:30 on November 27), the Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine with various types of missiles and strike drones.
In total, the Air Force's radio-technical troops detected 188 air attack targets:
- 3 S-300 surface-to-air missiles from Belgorod region, Russia, targeting Kharkiv region;
- 57 X-101 cruise missiles from strategic bombers Tu-95MS, launch area — Volgograd region, Russia;
- 28 Kalibr cruise missiles, launch area — Black Sea waters;
- 3 X-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles, launch area — airspace over the Black Sea;
- 97 Shahed-type attack UAVs and drones of undetermined type from Kursk, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, Orel, Bryansk, and Millerovo regions, Russia.
The air attack was intercepted by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 10:30, the following downings have been confirmed:
- 76 X-101/Calibr cruise missiles;
- 3 X-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles;
- 35 Shahed-type attack drones and drones of undetermined type (62 drones have been lost).
The missile and drone strike was aimed at Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
