Russian forces launch intense strikes across Ukraine: civilian casualties reported

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out a series of drone, missile, and artillery attacks across multiple regions of Ukraine, targeting residential areas, critical infrastructure, and social facilities, causing casualties and widespread destruction.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces launched 487 strikes on 11 settlements, including Plavni, Huliaipole, Uspenivka, Bilohirya, and Chervone, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional military administration. The attacks included 323 UAV strikes, primarily FPV drones, six strikes from multiple rocket launchers, and 146 artillery hits. Despite the intensity of the assault, no civilian casualties were reported.

In Kherson region, the attacks were deadly. Two people were killed and two others injured as Russian forces targeted 35 settlements, including Zelenivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, and the city of Kherson. The strikes damaged private homes, vehicles, and a gas pipeline. Additionally, in Molodizhne, a man born in 1965 was killed in a Russian attack. Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin extended condolences to the victim’s family.

Dnipropetrovsk region also suffered overnight attacks. In Pokrovska community of Synelnykove district, a 29-year-old man was injured when a private house was destroyed. Russian FPV drones additionally targeted the Nikopol district and affected Marhanetska and Myrivska communities. No further casualties were reported.

In Donetsk region, the Russian attacks claimed 11 lives and left 16 people injured over the past day. Nine people were killed in Kostiantynivka, one in Siversk, and one in Kalenyky, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional administration. Since the beginning of the invasion, the region has recorded 3,578 deaths and 8,013 injuries, excluding data from Mariupol and Volnovakha.

Mykolaiv region was hit multiple times by FPV drones, with private homes damaged in Dmytrivka and Solonchaky. Ochakiv and Galitsyniv communities were also targeted. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

In Sumy region, Russian forces carried out 133 strikes across 41 settlements. Civilians were among the injured, including a woman born in 1973 in Sumy community and a 35-year-old man from Poltava region who later died from injuries sustained in an earlier attack. The Russian military used guided aerial bombs, drone-dropped munitions, ballistic missiles, and MLRS during the assaults. Civilian infrastructure suffered significant damage.

Kharkiv region experienced heavy drone attacks as well. In Malynivka, Chuhuiv district, five civilians were injured and a fire broke out in residential buildings. Victims included four men aged 25, 48, 62, and 69, and a 50-year-old woman. Another man, 47, was injured in shelling in Vodiane village of Vilkhivka community. In total, 12 Shahed drones, two Molniya drones, and four FPV drones were launched across the region. The strikes also left approximately 40,000 residents in Lozova district and nearly 700 in six settlements of Blyzniuky community without electricity. Emergency crews are working to restore power.

 

 

Across Ukraine, air defense forces have been actively responding to the attacks, intercepting numerous drones and missiles. Despite their efforts, Russian strikes continue to cause destruction and civilian casualties. Authorities are mobilizing emergency services, repairing damaged infrastructure, and providing medical assistance to the injured.
