From the morning of August 14 to the morning of August 15, Russian forces carried out over 100 strikes on 46 settlements in 16 territorial communities of Sumy region, causing civilian injuries and extensive damage to infrastructure.
Sumy region
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration,
“In the Myropillia community, a 32-year-old man was injured during an attack by an enemy FPV drone. In the Sumy community, a UAV attack on a civilian car at a gas station caused the driver to suffer burns; he is receiving medical assistance,” the statement said.
The heaviest shelling occurred in the Sumy, Shostka, and Okhtyrka districts. Ukrainian authorities reported that the enemy used guided aerial bombs, multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), grenade-dropping drones, and FPV UAVs. Civilian infrastructure was significantly affected: private houses, apartment buildings, cars, and gas station facilities were damaged. During the day, local authorities, with the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and NGOs, evacuated 11 residents from border communities. Air raid alerts lasted a total of 11 hours and 17 minutes.
Donetsk region
In Donetsk region, two residents were killed and seven others injured during Russian strikes. Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, reported,
“The Russians killed two people in Kostiantynivka and Virivka. Another seven were injured. The total number of victims in the region now stands at 3,412 killed and 7,832 injured, not including data from Mariupol and Volnovakha.”
Dnipropetrovsk region
The Dnipropetrovsk region also faced drone and artillery attacks. Serhii Lysak, head of the Regional Military Administration, wrote on Telegram:
“In the evening and again in the morning, the aggressor targeted the Nikopol district — the district center, as well as the Pokrovska and Marhanets communities — using FPV drones and artillery.”
Six private houses, an outbuilding, and a power line were damaged. A guided aerial bomb strike in the Mezhivska community injured a 55-year-old man, while damaging five apartment buildings, five private houses, sixteen garages, and a power line.
Kherson region
In Kherson region, Russian drone terror and artillery shelling hit numerous settlements. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, said,
“An apartment building, 22 private houses, gas pipelines, outbuildings, and a private car were damaged. One person was killed and five others were injured, including one child.”
Zaporizhzhia region
Zaporizhzhia region experienced 578 strikes on 14 settlements. Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional administration, reported that Russian troops launched six airstrikes on Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Preobrazhenka, and Malynivka. Over 420 drones, mostly FPV types, targeted Bilenke, Kanivske, Prymorske, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Omelnyk, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Four MLRS strikes hit Kamianske, Malynivka, and Novodanylivka, and 147 artillery strikes were recorded in Veselianka, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Authorities received 26 reports of damage to houses and apartments, though no civilian casualties were reported.
